Built for nikah, not for notifications
Afayer exists because the apps Muslims were using to find a spouse were built for something else entirely.
Most dating apps are built to keep you swiping — the longer you stay, the better their numbers look. That model works fine for casual dating. It works against you when what you actually want is to get married.
Muslims looking for a spouse were left choosing between apps that treated marriage as an afterthought, or matrimony sites that felt like filling out a government form. Neither made space for the things that actually matter in a Muslim marriage: sect and practice, family involvement, and privacy that doesn't have to be configured by hand.
Afayer is what we built instead. Every feature — Islamic filters, Chaperone mode, photo privacy by default, verified profiles — exists because it moves two people closer to nikah, not because it keeps them in the app longer.
What we believe
Marriage is the goal, not the metric
We don't measure success in matches or messages sent. We measure it in nikahs — so every feature is built to move you toward marriage, not to keep you scrolling.
Family belongs in the process
Chaperone mode exists because, for most Muslims, finding a spouse isn't a private transaction between two people — it involves parents, a wali, and trusted family.
Deen comes before demographics
Sect, madhab and how someone practises matter more to a lasting marriage than most apps admit. We ask about it directly instead of leaving it to guesswork.
Privacy is the default, not a setting
Modesty shouldn't require twelve taps to configure. Photos stay blurred until you choose otherwise, on every account, from the moment you sign up.
